  1. Wow. I found this article really interesting. I'd actually like to see the impact on a larger scale and I'd like to see these results somehow communicated to not only the media, but to households that these statistic impact. Many low-income areas are targets for health disparities such as diabetes and need to know information as such. But there will be a problem because several low-income areas have been deemed as food deserts. A food desert is any area in where healthy, affordable food is difficult to obtain. A recent study at the CHEER program at The University of Tennessee Health Science in Memphis showed that many households opt for fast food and unhealthy foods because transportation to grocery stores more than 10 miles away was difficult to obtain, whereas fast food restaurants and corner stores with no produce were in walking distance. This is such an interesting subject. Great article.

  2. Awesome facts, but I am wondering how well African Americans will execute this diet plan. Personally, I feel the article depicting the "old way" of eating like our ancestors will give African Americans a better chance at life. In the article it clearly states do not use the standard European diet.
